Perry Willard Munger III, or Dr. Munger to all of his students, is an interesting character. He teaches many classes in the computer department, each with a flair and style only identifiable with him. Many students find his methods of teaching horrible and hard to follow, while others find his classes to be a refreshing break from the drollery of campus life.

Dr. Munger has spent the past 30+ years overseas, serving as a missionary in Africa and Asia. He has been the president of a college in Cameroon and was the head of the computer science department in Rwanda.

A word of advice to students: When taking a class from Dr. Munger, be on your toes at all times. While the lecture may stray from time to time (expect about 15-25% of your class time to be spent listening to stories about Africa where he was a missonary) there is still important stuff to be learned. In some of his easier classes, he will go far off topic (or at least far from the course description in the SAU bulletin) and test you over the unrelated material.
