Peter Cooper

Peter Cooper is the new professor of piano here at Southern. Previously, he chaired the music department and was piano professor at Andrews University, where he taught for nearly 20 years. He received his doctoral degree in piano performance from the University of Michigan. He teaches studio piano, aural and musical theory, and piano pedagogy. Before being hired as Dr. Ashton's successor, he performed as a guest artist with the orchestra, playing Rachmaninof's Piano Concerto No. 2. He is a very enthusiastic teacher and SAU is pleased to have him here.
