Kevin Brown
From SAUwiki
Dr. Brown joined the mathematics department in August of 1999. His areas of expertise are Differential Equations and Applied Math (not a course taught at Southern), though, like all three of Southern's math professors, he can be found teaching pretty much any math course. He has been known to work lots of problems in class.
Prior to coming to SAU he spent four years (1994-1998) teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Central Florida, where he was mainly responsible for sections of College Algebra and Finite Mathematics (a course that covered some Logic, Probability, Statistics, and Set Theory). He was also employed for three years (1996-1999) at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida first as an adjunct professor for two years and then as a full professor for one year. There he taught courses such as College Algebra, CLAST preparation, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, and Calculus.
Dr. Brown graduated from SAU with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1994. He then went to the University of Central Florida where he earned an M.S. in Applied Mathematics in 1996 and a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1999.
Dr. Brown is married to Jenifer, and they have a little 4 year old boy named Jacob.
