Gennevieve Brown Kibble
From SAUwiki
Dr. Kibble became director of choral activities at SAU in 2005. She directs the combined Bel Canto/Die Meistersinger and I Cantori. Previously, she taught at Pacific Union College in California from 1995-2005. While there, she directed the choirs and toured many foreign countries. Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Kibble studied music at Andrews University, and since then has received degrees from the University of Indiana, culminating in a D.M.A. in choral conducting from the University of Arizona. She also teaches studio voice, choral conducting, and some music education classes. Her aim and motto for the choirs is "3 choirs, one purpose: to uplift and reflect Jesus Christ through great choral music and to lead out in the worship service." She has a very unique and unusual conducting style that can take awhile to get used to. But she is a friendly and good-natured person, and she expects choir members to be involved fully. One cannot expect to get an "A" in choir if they do not come to rehearsals regularly.
